Being Outside is Good for Your Physical Health

Plenty of studies have shown that there are many health benefits to being outdoors and exploring. According to the U.S. Forest Service, being outside is relaxing and reduces our stress, cortisol levels, muscle tension, and heart rates – all of which are risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

The Outdoors Also Benefits Mental Health

In addition to physical health benefits, the health benefits of RVing include helping our mental health.  Spending time outdoors has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. An analysis of ten studies found that spending time outdoors in a green environment improved mood and self-esteem.

Being Surrounded by Nature Can Help Regain Focus

Between the everyday chaos of work, school, and family life, our hectic minds can quickly become fried. Fortunately, if you’re feeling mentally drained, spending time in nature or even just looking at plants, birds, water, or other elements of nature can help renew your patience and give your brain the break it needs. Relaxing under a clear night sky, with no obstructions, is a mesmerizing experience and can genuinely help regain focus on what is essential.

Build Better Social Bonds

All vacations are essential for family bonding, but we believe that outdoor recreation, and camping, are great for creating social interaction between family members.  RV camping is an ideal vacation setting to facilitate these experiences and grow as a family.

Its Easier to Unplug And Unwind

According to some, the average US adult spends 3 hours and 43 minutes daily on their mobile device. For teenagers, the average was significantly higher at 7 hours and 22 minutes a day!

Of course, many campgrounds offer free wifi and have decent cell reception. However, there are still many that have poor service. This includes places like Moose Hillock in New Hampshire and many of the state and National Park campgrounds. This will allow you to reduce your screen time and increase your family and social interactions. In our opinion being able to unplug and be more focused on family is one of the top health benefits of RVing.

RVing Helps Reduce Stress

RVing helps reduce travel stress and allows many to enjoy their travel further. For starters, you don’t have to be stressed about getting to the airport two hours ahead of time and then sitting around waiting. You can hit the road and immediately start traveling in your own time frame. In addition, you don’t have to stress about uncontrolled delays or cancelations. WIth limited space in the RV, packing becomes less stressful because you are limited in what you can bring. However, you still have all the amenities of the home with you, so the stress of eating and cost is also eliminated.

Our Experience and the Benefits of RVing

Purchasing our 2016 class c RV  is one of the best things we have ever purchased. The major health benefits for us included building stronger family bonds and reducing stress in the family. In addition, on our first trip to the Grand Canyon National Park, we developed a love of hiking in the National Parks. Each trip is filled with miles and miles of being outdoors and hiking as a family.

Traveling is very important, and enjoy time with your family and making important memories. In our opinion, this is truly one of the most essential benefits of RV travel.

There are certainly more pros to RVing than there are cons!
