As we went south to Nashville on our fourth cross-country trip, we stopped for one night at the Shenandoah/Harrisonburg KOA. This KOA is a delightful campground in Virginia’s heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. This KOA is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and families and offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and modern amenities.

Situated near the charming town of Harrisonburg, the campground provides easy access to many attractions and activities. Whether you’re interested in exploring the nearby Shenandoah National Park, taking a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or discovering the rich history and culture of the area, you’ll find plenty to see and do.

From I-81 Exit 257, take 11N 1/10 mile. Turn right onto Route 608 (Mauzy-Athlone Rd). Continue on Route 608 for 4 miles. Drive forward into the driveway at the end of Route 608.

We had a fantastic experience at the Shenandoah/Harrisonburg KOA. The campground offered breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were amicable and helpful, making check-in a breeze and recommending nearby attractions.

The amenities at the campground were top-notch. Our RV site was spacious and well-maintained, with full hookups making it easy to settle in. The clean restrooms and showers were a welcome convenience, and the camp store had everything we needed.

We loved spending time at the swimming pool to cool off on hot days, and the playgrounds were a hit with the kids. The hiking trails around the campground were beautiful, offering plenty of opportunities to explore the area’s natural beauty.
