Bryce and Zion National Parks are part of what is known as Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks. All though only 72 miles away from each other they offer two different experiences. If you are planning on visiting the area in your RV then we highly recommend these two RV parks near Bryce and Zion. These stops we part of our cross-country trip to the Grand Canyon.
Ruby’s Inn Rv Park and Campground
Ruby’s Inn Rv Park and Campground is the closest RV park to Bryce Canyon National Park. It is a short half-mile from the National Park. You can’t beat the location, value, comfort, and convenience of this RV park.
It offers 250 shady and open campsites that have electric and water, or FULL hook-ups as well as a large pull-through area that makes parking easy.
Ruby’s Inn offers all the amenities you would expect from an RV park including free wifi, swimming pools, and a small store for your camping needs. One thing that was great was the clean family restrooms and the large laundry facility.
The best part of Ruby’s Inn is the Bryce Canyon National Park Shuttle. It’s convenient and FREE with your park entrance fee. If you use an America the Beautiful Pass then the shuttle and park fees are free. Or you can buy a Park pass at Ruby’s Inn located next to the main entrance. The shuttle is operated from May – October and runs every 12-15 minutes from May – September, less in October. The shuttle stops at the Visitor Center and viewpoints in the main scenic area of the park.
We highly recommend Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campgorund when visiting Bryce Canyon. It is convenient, clean, comfortable, and a great place to sit back and relax after exploring the park.
Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground
We have traveled all across the country. In addition, we have stayed at many different campgrounds. However, Zion River Resort Rv park is one of the top 5 RV parks we have stayed at. This RV park offers breathing views of the painted mountains that surround the park. Not only are there stunning views of the landscape, but you also get full hookups at a well-maintained site.
Zion River Resort is located in the small town of Virgin, which is around 20 minutes west of Zion National Park. This small town has a number of stores and restaurants, making it a good home base for a visit to Zion and other nearby parks.
The park amenities offered include a heated pool and sauna, picnic tables, fire circles, and grills. It also includes basic amenities like private restrooms with hot showers and laundry facilities. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching. Both nights we stayed they also offered planned activities for the kids.
Our experience in Utah was amazing. We spent two nights at each of these parks and explored both national Parks. This area offers more than the National Parks as well. If you are looking for something else unique to do checkout the Grafton Ghost Town. This awesome stop is only 12 miles away from the Zion River Resort and is a must-see.
